There are those times when sitting in a comfortable chair and having the option of writing ? moving one's hand across a piece of paper with a suitable writing instrument ? is a preferable option to tapping out a message on a keyboard. The great thing about the Lap Desk is that it allows you to do both with equal comfort. The well-hinged under-top compartment holds just enough "equipment" (pens, paper, post-it notes, etc.) to facilitate the "Old School" means of communication. The Lap Desk also allow one to read a book, make marginal notes or add a sticky without fumbling around and dropping these items on the floor. The pillow underneath the desk is well designed and comfortable; the angle is just write ? couldn't resist the pun. This product delivers exactly what it was meant to and then some. It is handsome and fits in with almost any decor. While there are no metrics to confirm if the Lap Desk increases productivity or helps in retention of information, I seem to enjoy both data entry tasks as well as writing assignments more than at a standard desk; my back and spinal cord both agree with this assessment.
